Valentino Rossi enters his 22nd year racing in the World Championship with more motivation then ever. With Nine World Titles, the Italian is still at the top of his game. Training with the young Italian riders at the VR46 Ranch provides him with the opportunity to stay in peak physical & mental condition. Rossi has proven that on any given day with his Yamaha working to his liking he can still win against the best in the world.
Valentino won his last World Championship in the premier class in 2009. In a hard fought season battling team mate Jorge Lorenzo and Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa, Valentino clinched the championship in Malaysia by finishing in 3rd place, and with one round to spare.
Rossi celebrated with members of his fan club, by dressing up in a celebratory T-Shirt and helmet with the number 9 on and the words “Old Hen Makes Good Broth“. Rossi then had his photo taken with a live chicken and nine eggs, before putting on the new helmet and riding off to celebrate. The significance of the chicken was a joke at Rossi’s age and is based on “Gallina Vecchia!” an Italian saying that states that ‘the old chicken makes good soup, but it’s no use for laying eggs’. The helmet design was basically saying that, despite being 30, Rossi had laid yet another egg by claiming his 9th World Title.
