Rossi finished his four year tenure with Honda racing in grand style by winning the last race of the season in Valencia, Spain. He had already been crowned the 2003 MotoGP World Champion at the Malaysian Grand Prix two rounds earlier. Valentino would finish the season with 357 points, 80 points ahead of second place finisher Sete Gibernau who was also racing a Honda with the Telefonica Movistar Team.
Valentino raced with a retro Austin Powers themed bike, and would later celebrate on the Podium with a 70’s themed wig.
