In 1996, he concluded a record-setting run in the amateur ranks by capturing his ninth AMA Amateur National Championship at the prestigious Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch. He accumulated a total of 67 amateur motocross national championships. He got his first taste of professional motocross in 1996, showing signs of his upcoming greatness, and earned the AMA Motocross Rookie of the Year award.
Since his AMA Motocross debut in 1996 on a 125cc at Steel City, Pennsylvania, Ricky has established himself as the world’s greatest dirt bike rider. Some of his career records include; 150 Supercross / Motocross wins, ten AMA Motocross Championships, six Supercross Championships, one perfect 125cc Supercross season in 1998 and two perfect Motocross seasons; one in 2002 riding a 250cc two stroke and the other in 2004 riding a 450cc four stroke.
Since retiring, Ricky has been investing his time and energy in to giving back to the sport of motocross. He now works closely with his sponsors and partners to offer riders:
