Earvin “Magic” Johnson was born August 14th 1959 in Lansing, Michigan. Magic as he is known was a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers for 13 seasons. He was drafted by the Lakers in 1979 after winning the 1978/1979 NCAA Championship with Michigan State where he was voted the most outstanding Final Four player.
In his Rookie season (1980) with the Lakers, Magic won a championship and the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award. Magic was also part of four more Lakers Championship winning teams; 1982, 1985, 1987 & 1988.
A few of Magic’s career highlights to list include; 3 x NBA Finals MVP (1980, 1982 & 1987), 3 x NBA MVP (1987, 1989 & 1990), 12 x NBA All Star (1980, 1982-1992), voted into the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. During his career, Magic scored an incredible 17,707 points, collected 6559 rebounds & 10,141 assists.
