Martin is 2014 Red Bull Rookies Cup Winner and 2018 Moto3 World Champion. In 2023, Martin challenged Pecco Bagnaia all the way to the last round of the MotoGP Championship, eventually finishing 2nd to the reigning World Champion Pecco Bagnaia.
In 2024 Martin made the step he had worked so hard for during his career, and in a battle which went all the way to the last round, Martin was crowned 2024 MotoGP World Champion, beating Factory Ducati rider Pecco Bagnaia by 10 points.
In 2025 Martin moved to the Factory Aprilia Team. A season to forget which was plagued by very serious, near career ending injuries. He continues with Factory Aprilia in 2026 and has started the season in scintillating form. After three rounds he sits in 2nd place, and also won the Sprint race at the US Grand Prix at COTA.
