Joe Frazier was born on the 12th of January 1944 in Beaufort, South Carolina. “Smokin’ Joe” won an Olympic gold medal for the United States in 1964 before turning professional. He was the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion in 1970, and defeated Muhammad Ali by unanimous decision in the 15 round “Fight of the Century” in 1971. The pair met again at the “Thrilla in Manila” in 1975, with Ali winning the bout. Joe is considered one of the greatest heavyweight fighters of all time, and is a member of the World Boxing Hall of Fame.
